Wisconsin’s Assembly passed two bills that will lighten regulations on crossbow use and bow hunting on Tuesday.

One bill would eliminate requirements for resident and nonresident senior citizens to obtain a crossbow permit to hunt bear, turkey and small game if they already have proper hunting licenses.

The other bill passed will allow bow hunters to begin hunting immediately after purchasing a permit rather than having to wait three days to begin hunting, which is the current rule for bow hunters.

Both measures will go to the state Senate for evaluation.
