No more shortcuts in Mississippi’s national forests — beginning in March, the U.S. Forest Service will provide maps to help motorists navigate the state’s forests without damaging timber stands.
The new maps will show roads and trails authorized for motor vehicle use. Unregulated travel off a designated road or trail will be eliminated except for game retrieval within most parts of Wildlife Management Areas during deer-hunting season.
